    touch pr hosted an exclusive Bourbon tasting led by Four Roses Master Distiller, Brent Elliot. Located in the Soho Whisky Club, journalists were greeted with canapes and quizzed Brent on everything Bourbon. An interactive session followed, where Brent deconstructed the range, allowing guests to taste ten exclusive Four Roses Bourbon recipes, compiled of two mashbills and five unique strands of yeast.

Benji Purslow won the title, receiving a contract with Spirit Cartel and Four Roses and an unforgettable trip to the Four Roses Distillery in Kentucky, USA.

    We recently flew Grazia, Marie Claire, About Time and Lux Magazine to The Hacienda Zorita Wine Hotel & Spa in Salamanca, Spain. From nibbling cheeses and meats made on site at the organic farm, tasting the superb range of wines at the Hacienda Zorita Natural Reserve Winery to winding down at the Zorita Spa with a spot of wine therapy, it really was an epic trip.

For the winner, an all-expenses paid trip to New Orleans for the world’s premier drinks festival, Tales of the Cocktail.

    This week, the UK’s first cannabis pharmacy officially opened its doors to the public.

    The launch has caused quite a buzz amongst the media, with the story splashed across almost every national. UK founder Michal Takac is on a real high from the success of the launch, having found Carun as treatment for his own traumatic injury. There is nothing in the store that you can put in a spliff, but Carun products can treat a bevy of skin conditions, manage pain, soothe and smooth skin of any age!

    Guests were treated to a promotional film within the hotel’s luxury cinema room before heading to the WYLD bar for the brand’s big reveal. The evening was spent sipping, sampling and socialising with influential trade media under the ‘world’s largest glitter ball’, whilst taking in stunning panoramic views of the city.

    Bartender and media guests were transported from Old Street to the heart of the Hudson harvest this Tuesday. Senses were plunged into all things Hudson, as guests enjoyed the taste of New York State inspired Hudson cocktails, strip steak Reuben sandwiches, butternut squash fries and cider doughnuts. Hudson founder Ralph also made a guest appearance and regaled the crowd with his first UK telling of the Hudson story, all to the beat of Hudson’s sonic maturation playlist.

    Last this month we held an exclusive event at Quo Vadis to celebrate the partnership between South Africa’s award winning wine Nederburg and Channel 4 TV presenter and food producer, Jimmy Doherty.

    We were treated to a delicious three course meal hosted by Nederburg wine connoisseur Pieter Du Toit. After a lot of chatter, consuming a vast amount of excellent food, and drinking some very heavenly wine we glided homewards, where we watched our new favourite chef on TV.

    £350 a bottle and 26 years in a cask, we felt privileged to enjoy a dram.

    It was the year when Comic Relief was first launched, when we welcomed Princess Beatrice to the world and when Edwina Currie caused uproar with her comments on salmonella. Yes, it was a long time ago! It was also 26 years ago that the new Glenfiddich 26 Year Old whisky was laid down. This week we were amongst the first lucky few to sample this rather fine liquid at a media launch event at London’s Hospital Club.

    Dietician and Nutrition expert Priya Tew popped in to talk about the dangers of hidden sugar.

    Most soft drinks are packed with sugar, sweeteners and additives. Even a small glass of fruit juice contains around two and a half teaspoons of sugar. A diet high in sugar can lead to weight gain and a number of health problems including diabetes. Koji is low in sugar offering an alternative to the usually high sugar soft drinks.

    The big launch of Warehouse’s new concept store caused quite a buzz on Oxford Street last Thursday. The night attracted quite the glossy possy including Company, ELLE, Grazia and Vogue as well as celebrity DJs Amber Le Bon and Laura Whitmore. Spinning decks, getting manicures and browsing the latest collection is thirsty work. Luckily, a bevy of chilled Koji was on hand to sate the fashpack in low-sugar and naturally low-calorie style.

    This week Kara, Julie, Off Licence News and Bar Chick hit the red carpet to strike a pose at the Elle Style Awards after-party. Rubbing shoulders with Pharrell Williams and David Gandy was all bit much, so the team hit the bar for some First Drinks cocktails. A Reyka white lady, Tia Espresso Martini, Reyka and Tonic and Mount Gay Old Fashioned later and they were back at it, celeb spotting, taking a few selfies and dancing like Queen B herself.

    For one night only we broke our New Year’s resolutions, put on our glad rags and shimmied down to Radio bar at the ME London hotel to meet our fantastic client, First Drinks. With stunning city views and a choice of Hendrick’s gin or Sailor Jerry rum cocktails, we socialised the night away. The perfect way to welcome in 2014, we think so!

    Tuesday morning, the big reveal - we were Devon-bound. Feeling seriously festive, we sang our way through the three hour drive. River Cottage was the destination and we cooked up a storm of choux pastry and Chelsea buns - all whilst eating, drinking and fending off a few dirty tactics. Thoroughly baked-off, we headed to The Bull in Bridport where the celebrations amped up for dinner, more drinks, Secret Santa and dancing.

    It was time to get our skates on this week and to enjoy some festive fun at Somerset House.

    Our favourite Champagne brand, Piper-Heidsieck, is hosting a bar at the ice rink this year so after skating, it was time to enjoy a few glasses of bubbles. We don’t think the trade team is quite ready to feature on ITV’s Dancing On Ice in the new year but we will certainly be back for more skating practice and Champagne over the festive period!

    The skies were blue and the sun shone for the Walking with the Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge send-off event in Trafalgar Square, London.

    We were lucky enough to have VIP passes to watch Team Glenfiddich and charity patron, HRH Prince Harry be presented to the international media crews gathered for the event. After a meet and greet, the team took to the stage where Prince Harry addressed the packed crowd to thank the nation for its support of the upcoming expedition to one of the coldest places on the planet.

    For the fourth year running, Glenfiddich and the touch tradies began the search for the most creative and knowledgeable malt enthusiasts in the UK.

    The competition took the chosen few on a journey to bonnie Scotland to wow the judges with their Glenfiddich signature serves at the whisky’s birthplace, the Glenfiddich distillery. Following another year of fierce competition, the team and finalists were treated to some of Scotland’s finest tipples and treats before Till Britze of The Last Word, Edinburgh was crowned the winner with his “Ruadh damh” (The Red Stag, to the rest of us!)

    A blaze of pink added a welcome splash of colour to an office of often monochrome clad touchettes this Friday. Our very own touch ‘Wear It Pink’ heroines donned the pinkest of items in support of Breast Cancer awareness and stepped out in a varying array of pink garb as well as some questionable head gear. Indulging our girly sides full throttle and all in the name of charity – a Friday well spent!

    Our friends from the Tuthilltown Distillery in New York’s Hudson Valley were over for a series of press briefings to launch Hudson to the trade.

    The team couldn’t help but admire Ralph Erenzo’s journey to the wonderful world of whiskey. With a story that involves rock climbing, happy mistakes, DIY and sonic maturation – yes, they really do play music to the whiskey; the vibrations help the liquid mature! – the team had a fascinating two days on the road educating the trade.

    A cryptic invitation was sent out inviting press to the launch of a new whisky - no details were given on the whisky except for a few clues on social media networks.

    Team touch was there to host forty curious press and bloggers and witness the unveiling of Girvan Patent Still, the first ever grain whisky to be released by William Grant & Sons. After the successful event, the press went away more than happy at being the first in the world to try this new liquid.

    Last night the trade team headed to Shoreditch Studios with Sailor Jerry for the launch of the brand’s clothing collaboration with Paul Simonon of The Clash - The Flash Collection. Kara and Julie sipped on a Hellfire or two, whilst taking a few selfies with The Cocktail Lovers and rocking out with King Kahn and The Shrines. Never too shy to ask for a picture with Paul or get involved in the mosh pit!

    The team mingled with stars of the screen and fashion world at the launch of the Cointreau Privé at St Martin’s Lane Hotel this week.

    Curated by fashion designer Simone Rocha, the Privé bar was filled with fresh flowers and hand painted blooms for a romantic feel, whilst there was a heady aroma of orange in the air. After sipping on an array of wild rose, strawberry, cucumber and chilli flavoured cocktails, we can vouch that the Privé will be a popular hangout for designers during London Fashion Week.

    Kara heads a trade press and bartender expedition to Iceland, the home of Reyka vodka.

    Touch down and straight for a dip in The Blue Lagoon followed by a night out in town - Bartender vs. Viking challenges, local trolls and hidden people and of course, a couple of Reyka cocktails. Day two and the team set off on a Reyka distillery tour with Master Distiller, Thordur Sigurdsson, as well as visiting artic hot springs and volcanic waterfalls. Through to the evening, the team sampled some endangered wildlife before attempting an Icelandic wheel of fortune!

    A wonderful aroma of rum, cognac, whisky and gin in the air, the First Drinks team swung in to action with their innovative serves. The Worship Street Whistling Shop pop up bar wowed the crowd with their amazing drinks creations which involved popping balloons and dry ice. We couldn’t help but indulge in some cocktails and raise a glass to celebrate yet another fantastically successful Market Report event.

    Chloe and Kara headed straight to the First Drinks master class zone to catch talks on Rémy Martin, De Kuyper and Sailor Jerry. After a quick stop at the stands to say hello to the Reyka team and a Tia Maria pit stop for an Espresso Martini it was time to hit the road.

    As guests of our client MScape we enjoyed a day of high octane racing at Silverstone.     Touch PR have been credited for the PR element which drove awareness for the overall campaign. The successful campaign won two gold awards including one for the best alcoholic drinks promotion as well as two bronze awards.

    The three day event in London’s Tavistock Square kick started with the first ever tasting of the new Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 8 whisky. Hosted by Malt Master, David Stewart, the event pulled in a host of key trade journalists and whisky bloggers who all wanted to be amongst the lucky few to taste and review the special, new malt whisky.

Laura delved into the art of mixology working with the Tia Maria UK Brand Ambassador, to create her own bespoke cocktail to be served exclusively in the Tia Maria Music Room.

    Nick took the trip up to Dufftown with the Glenfiddich Malt Mastermind cocktail competition winner, Lee Potter Cavanagh of Hix Restaurant group.

    Nick and Lee met UK Brand Ambassador, Jamie Milne for a VIP tour of the distillery and bespoke tasting. Blizzard conditions put a smile on Lee’s face - he hails from Australia! Haggis, neaps and tatties we all washed down with a dram or two of rare Glenfiddich.

    British & Irish Lions legend Sir Ian McGeechan caused a bit of a scrum as he popped into Morrisons head office this week to launch the Lions Wine Club (www.lionswineclub.com) in association with the British & Irish Lions.

    Sir Ian put members of staff and the national media through their paces as they fired questions ahead of the British & Irish Lions squad announcement on the 30th April.
